Big day for Nathalie Armbruster
In the final competition Nathalie Armbruster claims her first ever victory in a Summer Grand Prix competition. She had to push really hard to beat the strong Ema Volavsek. The Slovenian reached the second place ahead of Jenny Nowak (3rd). The girls had barely made it into the finish when a huge thunderstrom ended the Summer Grand Prix 2024.
Jenny Nowak wins on Saturday in Chaux-Neuve
After way to many years we are finally back in France! Jenny Nowak shows another great competition and claims her second victory during this Summer Grand Prix. Ema Volavsek (2nd) and Minja Korhonen (3rd) join her on the podium.
First ever big hill competion
Jumping from a big hill is more like flying, especially when you fly over the mountains around Oberstdorf! Also for us as photographers most big hills give way more oportunities to take great shots. We can't wait for the famous Holmenkollen in Oslo in March!
Ida Marie Hagen wins the big hill premier
Yet another historic day in the story of women Nordic Combined - the second stage of the Summer Grand Prix taking place in Oberstdorf was finally the big hill premier for the women! In front on an amazing crowd Ida Marie Hagen showed the strongest performance and won ahead of two Germans. Nathalie Armbruster and Jenny Nowak secured a double podium on home soil.
First Summer Grand Prix victory for Jenny Nowak
The German already won the jumping part and started first into the roller ski race. Closely followed by Ida Marie Hagen, Nowak had to show a strong race to claim her first victory in a Summer Grand Prix. Hagen, who had a little fall on the slippery track, secured the second place and Slovenian Ema Volavsek completed the podium.
Slovenia wins the Mixed Team competition
Historic day for Team Slovenia! They won the Mixed Team competition in Tschagguns ahead of Norway and Germany. Starting into the roller ski race from the fourth place they showed a strong performance and Gasper Brecl was the strongest on the last meters.
Victory for Overall World Cup winner Ida Marie Hagen in the final competition
In the final competition of the season Gyda Westvold Hansen showed an amazing jump. In the Cross Country race on the other side there was once more no stopping Ida Marie Hagen. She won the the final competition of the season in Trondheim. Also Lisa Hirner raced very strong and reached the second place ahead of Gyda Westvold Hansen.
Norway wins the Mixed Team event on home soil
Team Austria won the skijumping part of the Mixed Team competition in Trondheim. They started into the Cross Country race 13 seconds ahead of Team Japan and 16 seconds ahead of Team Norway. After a strong race Norway won ahead of Austria and Germany.
Overall World Cup title for Ida Marie Hagen
With her 8th World Cup victory of the season at Holmenkollen on Saturday Ida Marie Hagen secured the first Overall World Cup title of her career. In all the competitions she didn't win, Hagen ended on the second place, what an impressive performance!
Victory for Ida Marie Hagen at the prestigious Holmenkollen
On Thursday at Midstubakken, where the jumping part took place, Mari Leinan Lund showed an amazing jump which gave her a lead of 21 seconds ahead of Gyda Westvold Hansen and 1:20 minutes ahead of Ida Marie Hagen. But once again Ida Mari Hagen showed an unbelievable cross country race and managed to catch up to her teammate on the last meters. She won her first King's Cup. Mari Leinan Lund became second and Gyda Westvold Hansen third.
Second victory in Otepää for Ida Marie Hagen
After a strong jump Mari Leinan Lund had a comfortable lead of 46 seconds ahead of the fastest skier in the field, Ida Marie Hagen. It took Hagen till the final corner to catch Leinan Lund. On the last meters Hagen outsprinted her teammate Leinan Lund and won the final competition in Otepää. The third place went to Gyda Westvold Hansen.
First podium of the season for Haruka Kasai
In the night race on Saturday in Otepää Ida Marie Hagen reaches a secure victory ahead of Haruka Kasai and Gyda Westvold Hansen. The second place of Haruka Kasai, who won the jumping part, was the first podium of the season for the Japanese team.
Gyda Westvold Hansen strikes back in Otepää
After three weekends without victory Gyda Westvold Hansen wins the Mass Start in Otepää, her first win in the year 2024. With her teammates, Ida Marie Hagen and Mari Leinan Lund, joining her on the podium it is another sweep for the strong Norwegian women.
Ida Marie Hagen wins the final Compact competition of the season
Ida Marie Hagen is the new queen of Seefeld. After her victory in the Individual Gundersen competition on Friday, she also won the Individual Compact competition on Saturday. Gyda Westvold Hansen and a very strong skiing Nathalie Armbruster completed the podium. This was the last Individual Compact competition of the season. With three victories in three competitions Ida Marie Hagen is the winner of the Compact Throphy.
Victory for Ida Marie Hagen in Seefeld
Ida Marie Hagen wins the first competition in Seefeld ahead of Mari Leinan Lund and Nathalie Armbruster. Great jumps and extremly strong CC skiing make her the best Nordic Combined athlete at the moment. Due to wind and rain the conditions on the hill and track were pretty difficult. We are hoping for a sunny Saturday!
Minja Korhonen ist the new Youth Olympic Champion
Minja Korhonen from Finland won the individual competition at the Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon (KOR). Already leading after the jumping part, she showed a strong CC race and crossed the finish line in front of two Slovenians Teja Pavec (silver medal) and Tia Malovrh (bronze medal).
Ida Marie Hagen wins the German Trophy
For the first time in history of Nordic Combined the women skied an 8 km CC race. World Cup leader Ida Marie Hagen won this competition ahead of her teammates Mari Leinan Lund and Gyda Westvold Hansen. With her 3rd World Cup victory she also secured her overall victory in the WIRmachenDruck German Trophy. This Trophy, consisting of the four individual events in Oberstdorf and Schonach, was open to the women for the first time this year.
First Schwarzwaldpokal for Mari Leinan Lund
For the first time in history also the women competed for the famous Schwarzwalpokal. Mari Leinan Lund showed the strongest performance and won the prestigious trophy. Her teammate Ida Marie Hagen raced two the second place and straight into the yellow bib. Local hero Nathalie Armbruster, cheered on by the crowd, took the final spot on the podium.
First COC victory for Joanna Kil in Klingenthal
Joanna Kil wins the Individual Compact Competition at the COC in Klingenthal. This makes her the first Polish woman in history to win a international competition in Nordic Combined. The second place goes to Sofia Eggensberger from Germany and the last spot on the podium claims her teammate Marie Nähring.
Second World Cup victory for Ida Marie Hagen
Ida Marie Hagen wins the Individual Compact competition in Oberstdorf on Sunday. She is followed by three teammates - Gyda Westvold Hansen, Mari Leinan Lund and Marte Leinan Lund. "Best of the rest" becomes local hero Nathalie Armbruster. In front of her homecrowd she sprints to the 5th place. The 6th place goes to Daniela Dejori - new personal best!
Maiden World Cup victory for Mari Leinan Lund
After winning the jumping part Mari Leinan Lund is able to stay ahead of her teammates in the cross country race and win her first World Cup competition. The second place goes to Ida Marie Hagen ahead of Gyda Westvold Hansen who struggled on the track after having Covid during the Christmas break.
PCR victory for Mari Leinan Lund
The Norwegian Mari Leinan Lund wins the first PCR of the new year ahead of her teammate Gyda Westvold Hansen and the Japanese Haruka Kasai. We are looking forward to an Individual Gundersen competition on Saturday and another Individual Compact competition on Sunday.
First World Cup victory for Ida Marie Hagen
On this Saturday in Ramsau the Nordic Combined women had their first Individual Compact competition in the World Cup. The Norwegian Ida Marie Hagen claimed her first ever World Cup victory ahead of teammate Gyda Westvold Hansen. In front of her home crowd Lisa Hirner was able the reach the first podium of the season.
Maiden World Cup podium for Minja Korhonen
While Gyda Westvold Hansen shows a strong performance (best jump and fastest on the track) and claims her 20st World Cup victory, for the first time in her career the only 16-year-old Minja Korhonen from Finland steps onto the World Cup podium. The second place goes to Ida Marie Hagen.

Gyda Westvold Hansen continues to dominate on the jumping hill. But also Jenny Nowak from Germany (second) and Minja Korhonen from Finland (third) show relly strong jumps in the PCR in Ramsau.
Second competition same podium
The norwegian domination continues in the second competition in Lillehammer. Once again Gyda Westvold Hansen wins ahead of her teammates Ida Marie Hagen and Mari Leinan Lund. Let's see if Minja Korhonen (5th and again personal best) and Nathalie Armbruster (second fastest CC time behind Ida Marie Hagen) can challenge them in Ramsau am Dachstein.
Norwegian podium sweep in Lillehammer
Team Norway dominates the first competition of the season. Gyda Westvold Hansen wins ahead of her teammates Ida Marie Hagen (fastest in CC race) and Mari Leinan Lund. In minus 16 degrees in Lillehammer Minja Korhonen (6th), Daniela Dejori (11th) and Svenja Wuerth (9th) show strong performances and secure a new personal best in the World Cup.

The dominating woman in Nordic Combined, Gyda Westvold Hansen, starts into the season with impressive jumps in Lillehammer. She wins the PCR ahead of Svenja Würth and Haruka Kasai.
Ema Volavsek wins the Summer Grand Prix 2023
Since Gyda Westvold Hansen wasn't starting on Sunday in Villach, it was up to Ema Volavsek to secure her second overall SGP victory in a row. With an extremly strong jump on 91,5 meters and a great ski roller race she claimed the overall victory and won the final competition of this years SGP. The second place went to Nathalie Armbruster, Svenja Würth finished third claiming her first ever Nordic Combined podium.
Another historical first at the SGP 2023
Today we celebrated the world permiere of the Individual Compact race in Villach. What's special about this format is that there are fixed starting times depending on the ranking after the jumping, so the differences in points don't matter. Ida Marie Hagen was the strongest and won her first SGP competition ever.
Huge crowd cheering at the night race in Oberstdorf
After we finally got some sun for the jumping in the morning, a huge crowd was waiting to cheer for our girls during the night race through the city of Oberstdorf. Gyda Westsvold Hansen showed another amazing performance and won in front of Ema Volavsek and Nathalie Armbruster.
Historical first Mixed Team Sprint in Oberwiesenthal
On a rainy Sunday in Oberwiesenthal Nordic Combined made history once again. 16 teams competed in the first ever Mixed Team Sprint. Starting into the roller ski race at the same time Team Norway I (Bjoernstad, Westvold Hansen) won ahead of Team Germany I (Schmid, Armbruster).
Gyda Westvold Hansen wins the race to the top of the Fichtelberg
First competition of the SGP 2023 and first victory for Gyda Westvold Hansen. The dominating athlete of the last winters presented herself once again in great shape. Behind her Ema Volavsek and Ida Marie Hagen showed an exciting fight for the second place. By the margin of 0,2 seconds Ema won this fight and the second place.
10 victories out of 10 individual competitions
After winning every individual competion of the season Gyda Westvold Hansen is of course also the winner of the Women's Overall World Cup 2022/23. After the last competiotion in Oslo she received the cristal globe. The second place went youngster Nathalie Armbruster who showed a very strong first full World Cup season. Her second place in the final competition helped Ida Marie Hagen to jump in the last moment onto the third place overall.
"King's Cup" for the queen of Nordic Combined
As she could start with a comfortable lead from the jumping part into the race, Gyda Westvold Hansen had time to enjoy the huge crowd at Holmenkollen cheering for her. Behind her it was once again quite tight. Ida Marie Hagen pushed really hard on the track and made it to the second place. Place three went to Anju Nakamura who after a great jump on Thursday finally claimed her first podium of the season.
PCR and competition jump for the final competition in Oslo
She is the Queen! Double World Champion from Planica, Gyda Westvold Hansen, wins also PCR and competition jump at Midtstubakken in Oslo. On Saturday the women will have their final World Cup race of the season. At the famous Holmenkollen they will fight for the "King's Cup" for the first time!
First ever Mixed Team competition at World Championships...
...is in the books. We proudly anounce Norway as the World Champion in the Mixed Team in Planica. Germany as second and Austria with a third place completed the podium. It was a huge fight, mainly with difficult snow and wind conditions on the hill, but finally history was made!

Neither bad wind nor a fall in the first lap can stop Gyda Westvold Hansen. She wins the Individual Gundersen competition at the World Championships in Planica. Behind her Nathalie Armbruster and Haruka Kasai put on an amazing race and become second and third.

Gyda Westvold Hansen defies pretty difficult wind conditions and wins the jumping part of todays individual competition. About 20 seconds behind her a bigger group led by Nathalie Armbruster follows. With 98 meters Armbruster showed the furthest jump of the competition.

While Gyda Westvold Hansen keeps working on her place in history of Nordic Combined, eight competitions this season and 8th victory for her, Jenny Nowak claims the first World Cup podium of her career. Behind her Yuna Kasai finishes third.
Amazing conditions for the PCR in Schonach
In the beautiful winter wonderland of Schonach Gyda Westvold Hansen was able to secure another PCR victory. The second place took once again Annika Sieff. Third became on her comeback Jenny Nowak.

Impressive 108,5 meters secure another PCR win for Gyda Westvold Hansen. The second place goes to Annika Sieff from Italy, followed by local hero Lisa Hirner.

Gyda Westvold Hansen continues with her impressive performance and wins also in Otepää. Behind her it is once again Nathalie Armbruster and Lisa Hirner batteling for the second place. This time Armbruster manages to beat Hirner and becomes runner up for the first time in her carreer.
Annika Sieff wins the jumping in Otepää
For the first time in the recent World Cup season it is not Gyda Westvold Hansen winning the jumping part. Annika Sieff is going to start first into the upcoming cross country race, 12 seconds ahead of Westvold Hansen and Jenny Nowak.
Mass start competition cancelled due to strong wind
Today on the programm was a mass start in Otepää. Gyda Westvold Hansen won the cross country part ahead of her teammate Ida Marie Hagen. With only small gaps between the athletes we were looking forward to a exciting skijumping part. Unfortunately the wind was to strong and the competition had to be cancelled after three jumps only.
Victory for Team Norway in the Mixed Team event
Already starter Jens Luraas Oftebro closes the small gap to Team Germany. As her teammate before Ida Marie Hagen puts the fastest skiing time on the snow and hands over to Gyda Westvold Hansen with a comfortable lead. This lead Hansen and Joergen Graabak have no trouble to keep till the end and Norway wins ahead of Germany and Austria.

With another start to finish victory Gyda Westvold Hansen goes unbeaten into the Christmas break. Annika Sieff shows a strong cross country race and can hold her second place after the jumping. The third place goes once again to the 16 year old Nathalie Armbruster.

Also a new venue can't stop Gyda Westvold Hansen! With her strong jump to 95 meters and the second fastest time on the track she shows once more a perfect competition. In a strong fight with Nathalie Armbruster, Lisa Hirner stays ahead and becomes second at her home World Cup.

Today the nordic combined women started into their second World Cup weekend of the season. In the two trainings as well as in the PCR Gyda Westvold Hansen continued to dominate on the hill. She won the PCR ahead of Annika Sieff and Lisa Hirner.

Lillehammer suits Gyda Westvold Hansen. She doesn't show any weakness and wins the second COC competition. Her crown princess with another strong performance is Ida Marie Hagen. Behind the two Norwegians Annika Malacinski has to fight hard but finally secures her first COC Podium. Congratulations!

A jump on 101 meters and a strong cross country race (3rd fastest skier) made Gyda Westvold Hansen the well deserved winner of the first World Cup of the season 2022/2023. Also Annika Sieff (2nd place) and Nathalie Armbruster (3rd place) showed pretty strong performances, both accomplished new carrer bests!
Seefeld Triple for women
At the opening press conference of the womens World Cup sesason race director Lasse Ottesen had some great news. Next sesason also women are going to get a Seefeld Triple, one of the most prestigious events in the men's World Cup calender! Additionally the FIS together with the German Ski Association is working on establishing a german trophy for women.

After a strong jump of 99 meters Gyda Westvold Hansen wins the first PCR of the new season in Lillehammer. Annika Sieff is the only one who came close with 98,5 meters. Let's hope for a exciting competition tomorrow!

Today the season finally kicks off! Keep your fingers crossed for nice sunny weather for our girls at the first World Cup stop in Lillehammer.

Before the Massstart in Ruka on Sunday all men used their poles to show an X. No eXeption! Women are only allowed in 15 out of 16 sports. All sports should be gender equal. The Olympics is no exception. (see: https://www.swixsport.com )
Women opening COC season
For the very first time the COC season is being opened by women. One week after the World Cup start they will compete in two individual competitions in Lillehammer.
